CANIM LAKE:

The 37-kilometer-long lake is one of the most popular lakes found in the Cariboo Chilcotin region. It is set in an area of picturesque contours, rolling green hills, expansive meadows and is surrounded by easily accessible mountain forests consisting of pine, spruce and fir.

The summer season attracts visitors who come to enjoy the lake's water recreation, which includes great beaches and numerous water sport activities. The lake reaches a comfortable temperature of 21° C.

During the summer months, it is advisable to take in some of the sights found in the area, such as the volcanic cones near Spanish Creek, and magnificent waterfalls - Deception, Mahood and Canim.

The fall is a myriad of colors as the Cariboo goes through the time of year better known as Indian Summer. The crisp mornings are invigorating and as a result some of the best fishing can be done at this time of year. The transformation of color is not only evident in the leaves turning colors, but also in the phenomenal sunsets seen in the early evening.

The winter months also provide the outdoor enthusiast with many activities such as dog sledding adventures, snowmobiling, cross-country skiing, skating, snow shoeing, ice fishing and sleigh rides.

Although Canim Lake offers rural solitude, it also provides for some of the urban necessities. We have a small country store located 3 km down the road from the resort - a nice walk along the lake, or a short drive by car. All of the major shopping conveniences are located a ½ hour's drive into 100 Mile House.
