Ponderosa Resort
ACTIVITIES:

We cater to year round recreation - be it swimming, water-skiing, horseback riding, ice skating or cross country skiing. Bring your own windsurfing board or snowmobile. For the little ones, there is a playground and waterslide to keep them entertained, and for the adults, there are canoes and motorboats for rent.
Fish for kokanee or rainbow
trout - lake trout up to 25
pounds are taken year round
in open water or through the
ice.
There are also many different
lakes and rivers in the surrounding
area that provide variety, and
challenge the sport fisherman.

Horseback excursions can be taken to some of the surrounding hills and lakes. We offer a guided boat tour around Canim Lake which takes approximately three hours. This tour is full of scenic beauty, which often results
in excellent photos. Or for those who just want to relax and enjoy the magnificent scenery, we offer a tranquil setting of quiet solitude.

A camera is a must for your holiday at the resort. The panoramic view and wildlife provide excellent targets for
photographers to record forever. Bird watchers will enjoy the many species of song birds, eagles and water fowl. Photography enthusiasts will marvel at the spectacular scenery complete with wildlife.
And the warm memories of fun and friendship in the peaceful setting of the Ponderosa Resort will linger on, long after your trip has ended.

A winter vacation is also possible from the middle of December until the end of February. During this time we usually have snow, and the lake is frozen allowing for a great deal of winter fun! Our winter lows average around -15° C and can drop for short periods of time to -40° C. Winter snow transforms this area into one of the best cross country ski destinations in British Columbia. Ice-skating, tobogganing, dogsledding and sleighriding, plus nearby downhill skiing and snowmobiling, round out the fun.

Horseback Riding:
Horseback excursions can be arranged and taken into the surrounding mountains or into ranch country. Some day-rides will take you into the high country to experience some breathtaking views. The wildflowers are spectacular, and if you are lucky, you may even see some wildlife. There is the opportunity to participate in hay rides, or sleigh rides, depending on the time of year.
